that you remember the year 39 trips around the sun later is impressive. but if you don't mind me asking, what exactly about the experience didn't work for you? I'm curious.
My last 2 experiences were similar. About 3-4 yrs apart. Both in safe and comfortable settings. While I enjoyed the visual aspect, I would get way too anxious or buzzy, jittery which I guess led to paranoia. Interesting trying to recall this after so many years. That last time I managed to get home to my cabin in the woods and lit a candle, put one hand on each dog and sat. That thought makes me realize it must have been a loss of grounding (to reality?) that made me feel the way I did. I eventually quit pot for similar reasons a few yrs. later. I was growing powerful weed at the time that was from the seed stock that was smuggled out of Cornell Univ. when they were doing research for the govt. Quit the weed in '95 and eventually alcohol in '99. I choose now full consciousness based awareness and reality. Although these days some altered reality might be ok, lol. Enjoy your SS.
Microdosing may be the answer. Like the difference in mental and physical experience of drinking a bottle of vodka or having just one sip. It’ll be very interesting to see where this research goes with dosing and frequency, and in humans..
I am always quite dubious about the search for the magic ingredient that will increase longevity. Figuring out if any these counter all the things we do that definitely don't add our healthy is really difficult. Honestly we know quite a bit more about the things we eat or do that don't help longevity or at least need to be moderated to balance between an enjoyable life and completely abstaining 100% of the time. We certainly know the most common things that help with quality of life and perhaps some amount of longevity such as maintaining a healthy weight, staying active, staying social, eating a mainly healthy diet of whole foods.
On the other hand we are all hoping for that moment like they had in the Woody Allen movie sleeper when in the future they find that healthy food does nothing for us.
Haha, the last time I ate magic 'shrooms (1986) ( my Grateful Dead period), I decided I just wasn't cut out for that type of experience.
