As a matter of curiosity I asked AI to critically evaluate the article you write about. How it (I.e. AI) thinks this post might influence older people's attitudes toward aging? What are the positives and negatives of adopting the author's point of view?
Here is the excerpt from AI’s (Gemini) answer:
„On the other hand, for people with an optimistic outlook, the article may serve as a list of challenges and motivation to take action. Knowledge of potential difficulties, such as muscle weakness, may encourage preventive measures, such as regular exercise, healthy eating, and appropriate medical care. Instead of accepting the problems presented as "impossible," they can treat them as "difficult but manageable" and make an effort to maintain their fitness and independence for as long as possible.”
So, paradoxically, by writing about the limitations that old age brings, the author may encourage some people to treat these limitations as challenges to be overcome or at least minimized. And then we, people with optimistic outlook, come across Paul von Zielbauer’s blog and get a wealth of reliable knowledge, tips, and advice on what to do to overcome or at least reduce age-related limitations.
Dariusz, love the originality in deploying AI this way, and I hope the original article might have the motivating effect that Gemini suggests. Of course, that doesn't excuse the idiotic premise and intent of the article itself.
No, it does not. The problem is that we cannot do anything to prevent certain views from appearing in the public sphere. The only thing we can do is expose their harmfulness, which you have done perfectly, and hope that it reaches others. I deeply believe that most people want to be fit and independent for as long as possible and need knowledge and guidance on how to do so. Unfortunately, we live in a world where the pharmaceutical and medical lobbies are more interested in treatment than prevention. Why? The answer seems obvious. There’s more money in it.
I'm good with bringing back the word geezer, but since I'm a female, does that make me a sheezer? Because I can get behind that.
Rachel, geezer is gender neutral, i think. But sheezer works, too.
Bad press is still press. You gave this dude too much airtime.
Thanks for your well written and researched writing 🙏
But it was so fun to write about....
Approachable and insightful prose!
Howard, thanks for reading. I appreciate your comment.

Fists of bros can fuck off!
Ahaha, certainly a silly article indeed. Theirs, not yours.
I wonder what their parents think of the contents of their article.
Kim, that is likely to remain an enduring mystery.
